SKINNY
we love beer.
Skinny loves beer, and particularly they love Bud Light.
This august Budwieser added skinny to their small list of artist relationships. The band was already known to polish off a large share of bud light, but are now proud sponsors of
the cold delictible beverage.
Now at shows, when you find us, you will also find
Bud True Music. What a fantasic marriage.
The Name Change
The band decided to release the new album Grass as SKINNY, and no longer use the name 2 Skinny Dorks and the Family. We still consider the band family, as well as Eric and Jake the dorks, but the band has officially changed the name. Help us make the change. We are the artists formerly known as 2SD.

Cancellations? What's wrong? On Friday, February 2nd, while loading in to the Blue Gator in Athens, Ohio, Jake Blazer (vocals/guitar) smashed his finger between the bands van and trailer. This accident severed the index finger on his right hand just above the first knuckle (see xray at right) . Jake is feeling better after a short stint in the hospital. Although Jake will not be playing guitar, he plans to take the stage again starting Saturday, February 10th at the Harbor Inn (Akron, Ohio). To all the folks that have showed great support, Jake would like to personally thank you.

Music Video in Boston
On April 26th, Skinny began shooting a music video for material off their latest album Grass. The band spent two days in Boston, Massachusetts with videographer/producer Michael Bilotta of Shibboleth Pictures creating the idea for the bands first single "Nowhere". The video follows the story of split lovers trying to make time in a busy world for one another, and a large portion was shot in Boston's Historical Art Museum.
Check out the bands myspac e page for updates, sneek peeks, and release dates.
Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
Skinny will be kicking off the Fox 8 Summer series
on June 1st at Clevelands very own Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The event will be aired live on Clevelands Fox 8 Morning Show with the bands favorite host Kenny Crumpton. Make sure you tune in to the performance starting around 7am.
The band is sad to announce that long-time friend, family, and drummer Elijah Gilmore has chose new paths in life. After returning home from tour this month, Elijah decided that he needed to leave the band.
Eli had been with the family for the past three years and had a profound impact on the bands sound. The band will miss Elijah.
There were big shoes to fill with the absence of Elijah, but stepping into those shoes was Cleveland native Joel Lugo. Lugo has already performed all over the country in front of thousands with other acts , and should make a great addition to the family. Make sure all of you folks show encouragement to both Elijah, and the newest member of the family, Joel Lugo.
If the band had to pick a favorite area, it would be the South. Specifically Georgia. Skinny will be kicking off a southern tour at the end of September. The band will start with dates in both North and South Carolina, head through Georgia on their way to Florida State University's hottest night club Bullwinkels. Afterward the band heads back to SC to play Clemson University, and spend the entire second week of October in the lovely state of Georgia/ The band will be heading back to Georgia Southern University's biggest party club Plantation Room. Make sure you don't miss this one, its bound to leave a mark.

Van Breaks Down and Stops Tour.
One tour, Ten States, One Van Dies
Skinny smashed the east coast over the last couple of months, and while doing so killed the SkiniVan. The band had called the van home for the last 6 years, and literally lived in it at times. Sad day in the band, but I guess if you have to be a van, that's not a bad ride to take.
Skinny would love to thank everyone that supported the tour, fed them, and let them destroy their living conditions. Sorry about your cat, oops.
The guys made tons of new friends and fans this tour and are excited to see them all again on the next pass.
The band will be in Ohio this coming week, see the calendars for all the upcoming dates.
RIP SkiniVan

Rest in Peace Big E
The Family loses a Brother
Filled with broken hearts and crushed spirits, the band would like to officially announce that on August 24th, 2009, Eric Daniel aka Big E Bass
died of a massive heart attack at the age of 43. He had played with Jake and Eric for the last 11 years, and had become a prominent part of the family.
Big had been on stage with the band on August 22nd in Canton Ohio, and played the show as he always does. He played at his church in Cleveland on Sunday August 23rd, as he always does on Sundays. He passed away in his home on Monday afternoon.
Eric had been part of the band for the last eleven years, and will leave a tremendous void where he once graced every note of the band's music.
He was an icon for the instrument, an idol of couth, and a compass for all other musicians. He will be forever missed, but always remain a member of our family.
Services will be held on September 5th at Strowder Funeral Home (822 E.105th St Cleveland, Oh 44108). For questions regarding attendance please call 216-761-3092.
On Friday, August 28th at the Sunny Spot (2204 Noble Rd Cleveland Hts, Oh) there will be a tribute performance by friends and family of Big Bass at 10pm. Members of Skinny will attend, but not entire band. Please support this event.
Donations for Big's Family and Services would be appreciated and can be made by following the link below. Every penny will help. As the other members of the band, Life insurance isn't really in the musician's budget. Please be kind, we appreciate any help you could provide.
To remember Bass the way we do, check out never seen footage on Youtube.com. The last recorded interview of Eric was taken after a one month tour down the east coast. The interview was conducted by singer Jacob Blazer on a hotel balcony in Winston Salem NC on the last day of the tour. Click the link below to see both part 1 and 2 of the interview.
After 12 years, 3 names, 38 states toured, and 15 members, the band will be slowing down in 2010. No schedule has been set, but the band has agreed that after the death of Big Bass, they have found themselves in a different situation than they have ever experienced before.
Who could fill Bass's shoes, where would the energy come from, and how would it ever be the same?
The support has been unbelievable, and the love has been over flowing. We appreciate all of it.
I can see it all
Bass is still blessing
Amazing.
Big Bass was an organ donor, and the band just got wind that because of his donation two individuals can see again. Portions of Big's eyes went to two blind patients in a blindness study, and returned their vision.
